IJCRS 2026 Special Issue of IJUFKS
This special issue focuses on recent advances in uncertainty modeling, rough sets, fuzzy sets, and knowledge-based systems, with particular emphasis on high-quality contributions related to the 12th International Joint Conference on Rough Sets (IJCRS 2026).
Rough set theory and its extensions play a fundamental role in the representation and processing of imperfect, incomplete, and vague information. Over the years, strong connections have emerged between rough sets, fuzzy sets, formal concept analysis, granular computing, probabilistic reasoning, and three-way decision models. These concepts have contributed to the development of intelligent knowledge-based systems that operate under uncertainty.
The objective of this special issue is to provide a forum for extended and substantially enhanced versions of selected IJCRS 2026 papers, as well as related original contributions, presenting novel theoretical results, methodological developments, and practical applications. The special issue aims to enhance collaboration between the rough set community and the broader research domains of uncertainty, fuzziness, and knowledge-based systems, aligning with the scope of the International Journal of Uncertainty, Fuzziness and Knowledge-Based Systems.
Topics include (but are not limited to):
- Rough set theory, decision-theoretic rough sets, and their generalizations
- Fuzzy sets, fuzzy logic, and fuzzy inference systems
- Hybrid rough–fuzzy and fuzzy–probabilistic models
- Granular computing and information granulation
- Three-way decision models and related uncertainty frameworks
- Uncertainty representation and reasoning
- Knowledge representation and reasoning under vagueness and incompleteness
- Learning, feature selection, and data analysis using rough and fuzzy methods
- Uncertainty-aware and explainable intelligent systems
- Decision-making and optimization under uncertainty
