Uncertainty and three-way decision in data science

Some of the main objectives of data science are to manage data, to discover knowledge and insights from data, and to use data to support wise decisions and actions. Data are commonly incomplete, inaccurate, or inconsistent, posing a great challenge for any type of data analytics. The theory of three-way decision concerns thinking, problem-solving, and information-processing in threes. By putting uncertainty, three-way decision, data science together, the goal of this special issue is to explore new research initiatives, possibilities, directions on the theories, methods, and tools of uncertainty management and decision-making under uncertainty in data science.

This special issue will provide a forum for scholars studying in these areas to contribute and share their achievements. The editors of the special issue invite authors to submit theoretical and empirical papers on these topics.
